My belly is constantly expanding. One day it started getting wider, the next it started to get rounder at the top. Liv has started to move more regularly now, especially after I have some food. Yesterday we had our first sushi dinner (all veggie and cooked filling in my makis, of course) and after all that wasabi and ginger Liv was doing acrobatics for a while.  But it's not all food related: the other day she responded with a bunch of movements after her dad was speaking to her through my belly :)

Mi tripa está expandiéndose. Un día empezó a ensancharse, al siguiente empezó a redondearse más arriba. Liv ha empezado a moverse con más regularidad, sobre todo después de que coma algo. Ayer nos fuimos a cenar sushi por primera vez (todo vegetales y rellenos cocinados en mis makis, claro) y después de tanto wasabi y gengibre Liv estuvo haciendo acrobacias. Pero no todos los movimientos están relacionados con la comida: el otro día respondió con movimientos después de que su papá le hablase a través de mi tripa :)

Movement!
Exactly at 20 weeks, half way through the pregnancy (!) I can feel Liv moving. It feels like bubbles or marbles rotating on themselves. You can't feel movements on the outside yet.

Movimiento!
Exactamente a las 20 semanas, a la mitad del embarazo (!), puedo notar a Liv moverse. Es como burbujas o canicas rotando sobre si mismas. Todavía no se pueden notar desde fuera.

It's a girl!!!! And her name is LIV (a norwegian name, which means life and protection)


Today we went to the doc twice. Once in the morning to get my last check up in the US. We had a short ultrasound to see the baby, but it was not collaborating. The little one was pressing it's tiny legs together, so we couldn't get a see if it was a boy or a girl.
In the afternoon we came back, because the nurse had promised us a little ultrasound video, to show our friends and family. And after some attempts at different angles: the proof we were looking for: three lighter colored lines: a girl!
The video is a little long, but you get a glimpse of the three lines, the baby's body, the head (both front and profile) the spine, the little black pumping heart and if you put on some volume you can even hear the fast heartbeat.

Es una niña!!! Y se llama LIV (un nombre noruego que significa vida y protección)
Hoy fuimos a la consulta dos veces. Una por la mañana para mi última cita con la doctora en los EEUU. Nos hicieron una ecografía rápida para ver el bebé, pero no estaba colaborando. Estuvo todo el rato apretando las piernecitas y no pudimos ver si era niño o niña.
Por la trade volvimos, porque la enfermera nos había prometido un vídeo de una ecografía, para poder enseñarla a la familia y amigos. Finalmente, después de varios intentos y ángulos: la prueba que estábamos buscando: tres líneas un poco más claritas - una niña!
El vídeo es un poco largo, pero podréis ver las tres líneas, el cuerpo del bebé, la cabeza (de frente y de perfil), la columna, el pequeño corazón negro palpitando y si ponéis el volúmen incluso podéis escuchar los latidos super rápidos de su corazón.
